Cedric Martin comes from a Mennonite background. He was born and raised in Lancaster County, PA and that is where he first learned fine woodworking. Cedric built his first pieces of furniture while still in high school and then returned to woodworking in his mid-twenties, studying at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Maine and the North Bennett Street School in Boston.
In 2013, Cedric founded Pacama Handmade, a design studio and retail space in Woodstock, New York an area rich with history of designers, artists and craftspeople. It was an ideal location for a contemporary furniture maker looking to use the American history of this craft to create new pieces for the 21st century.
