Brayton Laguna Cat by Bauer Pottery
First introduced by Brayton Laguna Pottery in 1960. This graceful mid-century feline stands a proud 16 inches. Durlin Brayton was a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago. After graduating he moved to Laguna Beach, California and built a small ceramics workshop naming it Brayton Laguna Pottery. Brayton Laguna is considered to be one of the first California potteries to produce the solid color dinnerware lines later popularized by J.A. Bauer Pottery, Pacific Clay Products and others, along with art objects and figurines, operating production until the business began to decline and the company eventually closed its doors. After recent discovery of the original tooling for the stunning stylized cat, Bauer Pottery has re-introduced production in a variety of colors.
