ABOUT THE ARTIST Jasmin Tabesch A painter by trade Jasmin Tabesch learned the art of jewelry making from her mother while living in Morocco in the early 80's. Road trips to places like Imilchil and other remote mountain villages in the High Atlas, and subsequent travel to India, Pakistan, Yemen, and Southeast Asia introduced her to the arts and crafts of the berber and other tribal people. These encounters triggered a lasting love for indigenous and tribal jewelry.
Jasmin has recently introcuded her modern line of playful and graphic vintage objects set in elegant silver settings. The found objects she uses include game pieces such as mahjong tiles, dice, vintage cards and maps, old manuscripts, letters and her signature wooden rulers.
Materials used: rare and tribal silver, semi-precious stone, freshwater pearls, old glass beads, sterling sliver.
