The 1980s New York artist Keith Haring, a child of Pop art culture, made his colorful work accessible to the widest possible audience by bringing it into the streets. His favorite pastime was to draw on the walls of the New York subway. He eventually got exposure through New York galleries and developed his unique, universally recognizable style.
